Virtual Events
Virtual events are growing in popularity, and it doesn’t appear as if that’s going to change very soon.

Planotech Virtual Events

Planotech combine in-person and virtual event experiences. Get more from your event and allow your attendees to learn, network, and interact — no matter where they are.

A hybrid event is a tradeshow, conference, unconference, seminar, workshop or other meeting that combines a “live” in-person event with a “virtual” online component.

With the increasing growth and cost-effectiveness of virtual events, hybrid events have become a popular way to increase participation in traditional events at low cost.

They also enable the participation of people who may not be able to attend physically due to travel or time constraints or the desire to lower the event’s carbon footprint.

The open, participatory unconferences and their focus on content sharing, make them hybrid events as well.

Typically, the visual component includes an online representation of a live event. For example, Internet participants can access:

  • live audio or video streaming of key speakers or workshops next to their presentation material
  • Online presentations
  • A hybrid event webcast with synced slides next to live and saved video presentation
  • The creation of live or transcribed comments on the process
  • Online chat or chat chats
  • Event photos (e.g., Flickr) and video (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo,)
  • Integration of other social media tools such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.
  • Provision of internet access, usually with free Wi-Fi, is common at hybrid events. As well as allowing the mobile event to reach a wider audience, these online tools also provide ways for the physical presence of attendees to engage with others, event organizers and online participants, and online participants to engage with others.

Event content can be recorded and made available online to encourage further discussions after the event, create a database of event participants, and help market next year’s event by sharing prominently from the current year.
